About DraftFort

Your private fort for documents..

DraftFort started from a simple frustration: most "free" online document tools bury a quick task under sign-up walls, watermarks, paywalls, and upsells — and many quietly upload your data to their servers. We thought creating an invoice or a letter should be faster than that, and more private.

Why “DraftFort”?

Draft is the useful work: creating, correcting, converting and preparing a document. Fort is the boundary around it. Supported PDFs, images and information are handled on your device, so a sensitive statement, contract or personal document does not need to be handed to a processing server just to complete a simple task.

Our long-term direction includes more browser-based tools for PDFs, documents, spreadsheets and images. We will name a format as supported only after its tool actually ships and meets the same local-processing standard.

What we believe

• Free should mean free. No account, no watermark, no "download is locked until you upgrade".
• Your data is yours. Our tools run in your browser. The details you type and supported files you add are not uploaded to DraftFort. You can test that claim in our Privacy Verification Lab.
• Fast beats flashy. Lightweight pages that load quickly and work well on a phone.
• Quality output. Generated document PDFs use real, selectable text rather than blurry screenshots. Utilities state clearly when a task, such as scan compression, intentionally rasterises pages.
• No AI detour. Document text and files are not sent to an AI model. DraftFort focuses on dependable local tools instead.

Editorial standards

Our current standard requires primary sources, visible assumptions, and jurisdiction and update details for claims that can change. We show a clear author and date on every guide and are reviewing older pages against that standard. Our guides are general information, not professional legal, financial, or tax advice. How we plan to keep it free

DraftFort does not currently display ads. We plan to fund the site with clearly separated advertising on manually reviewed editorial content after the site is approved and our consent checks are complete. The initial model keeps third-party advertising code off document tools and upload workflows. Advertisers will not influence our guidance or which tools we build.
