Rotate PDF Pages
Rotate one, several, or every PDF page online for free. Preview pages, turn them left or right, and download privately — no upload, login, or watermark.
Private by design: your PDF is opened and changed inside this browser. It is never uploaded to DraftFort.
Fix sideways or upside-down PDF pages privately
A scan can contain one landscape page in a portrait document. A phone capture can arrive upside down. Sometimes every page simply opens the wrong way. This tool lets you inspect the pages visually, rotate only the ones that need it and download a corrected copy without sending the document to DraftFort.
How to rotate PDF pages
- Add the PDF. Drop it into the tool or choose it from your device.
- Check the previews. Every page starts selected. Clear the selection and pick individual pages when only some need changing.
- Rotate left or right. Use the main controls for all selected pages, or the controls beneath a thumbnail for one page. Repeat a turn to reach 180°.
- Download the new PDF. The original stays untouched on your device.
The label above each thumbnail shows its pending turn. Undo all restores every preview to the original orientation before download.
Which rotation should I choose?
| What you see | Action |
|---|---|
| Text runs from bottom to top | Rotate right 90° |
| Text runs from top to bottom | Rotate left 90° |
| Page is upside down | Rotate left or right twice |
| Only one page is wrong | Use that page’s own arrow buttons |
| Several pages are wrong in the same way | Select those pages, then use the main rotation controls |
The visual preview matters more than the rule of thumb: keep turning until the page reads normally, then download the result.
What happens to PDF quality?
DraftFort changes the PDF page rotation rather than rebuilding each page from a picture. That avoids intentional rasterisation, so vector artwork stays vector and selectable text normally stays selectable. The output is still a newly saved PDF. Digital signatures may become invalid, and complex forms, bookmarks, attachments, accessibility tagging or viewer-specific features deserve a check before you discard the original.
For a signed or legally important document, keep the source file and open the rotated copy in the viewer used by the recipient.
Why browser-only rotation matters
PDFs often contain statements, identity records, contracts, medical paperwork or internal business documents. Uploading the file is unnecessary for a simple page turn. DraftFort loads the PDF libraries only after you choose a file, then does the preview and export work locally in your browser. There is no document upload step and no account to create.
Need to keep only certain pages? Use Split PDF. To put several documents together first, use Merge PDF.
Frequently asked questions
Can I rotate just one page in a PDF?
Yes. Use the left or right button beneath that page. You can also select several page checkboxes and rotate the selected pages together.
Does DraftFort upload my PDF?
No. The browser reads the PDF, creates the previews, applies the rotations and saves the result on your device. DraftFort does not receive or store the file.
Is the PDF rotator free?
Yes. It is free to use, with no account, no watermark and no stated daily limit. Very large PDFs may still be limited by the memory available on your device.
Will rotating reduce PDF quality?
The tool changes each page's rotation setting rather than turning the page into a screenshot. It does not deliberately recompress page images, and selectable text normally remains selectable. Check the result when forms, signatures or other advanced PDF features matter.
Can I rotate pages 90 degrees or 180 degrees?
Yes. Click left or right once for 90 degrees, twice for 180 degrees, or three times for the equivalent 90-degree turn in the other direction. The preview shows the pending result.
Does this permanently rotate the PDF?
The downloaded copy stores the new page rotation, so compatible PDF viewers should open it in that orientation. Your original file is never modified.
Can it open a password-protected PDF?
No. Encrypted PDFs are not decrypted. If you are authorised, remove the password with the document owner's approved method before using the tool.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. The page grid and controls are designed for modern mobile, tablet and desktop browsers. Large documents generally work better on devices with more memory.
