Before you begin

Private processing has honest limits

Local processing removes the document-upload step, but it uses your device's memory and processor. Very large or image-heavy files may work better on a computer than a phone. Unlock PDF removes standard password encryption only when you provide a password and confirm that you own the file or have permission; it does not recover or crack passwords. Password Protect PDF adds AES-256 opening-password encryption, but it is not DRM and DraftFort cannot recover a forgotten password. Remove PDF Metadata clears supported document properties, but it is not complete anonymization and does not remove visible content.

PDF is a complex format. Basic pages usually retain their text and geometry in non-rasterising tools, but forms, bookmarks, attachments, layers, accessibility tags and digital signatures can change when a new PDF is written. Keep the original and review every downloaded copy.
