How to split a PDF

The page counter appears after the file is read, and the selected-page count updates before download. Invalid text and page numbers beyond the document are ignored. The current tool creates one combined output, not a ZIP of separate files.
What to verify in the extracted PDF
The tool copies selected pages into a new document rather than rendering them as images. That normally preserves selectable text and page clarity. Document-level features are different: bookmarks, file attachments, interactive form behavior and digital signatures may not carry over or remain valid. Open the result and check links, form fields and signatures; keep the original whenever those features matter.

How do I choose which pages to keep?
Type page numbers and ranges separated by commas, like ‘1-3, 5, 8-10’. Entries are processed in the order listed, ranges are expanded from low to high, out-of-range entries are ignored, and duplicate pages appear only once.
Can I delete pages instead of extracting them?
Yes — just list the pages you want to keep. The result is a new PDF containing only those pages, which effectively removes the rest.
Will the quality change?
Pages are copied rather than rasterised, so selectable text normally stays selectable and page images are not recompressed. The output is a new document, so verify bookmarks, attachments, forms, links and signatures before relying on them.
Can I create one separate PDF for every range?
Not in one click. The current tool creates one output containing every page you list. To make several separate files, run the extraction again with each range.
Can it split a password-protected PDF?
Not directly. If you know an authorised password, use DraftFort's Unlock PDF tool first, then add the unlocked copy.
Does it work on mobile?
