Quotation vs estimate — which should you send?

Send a quotation when you know the exact scope and can commit to a fixed price — customers treat an accepted quotation as the agreed cost of the job. Send an estimate when the scope still has unknowns and the final price may reasonably change. Whichever you choose, always include a validity date and clear terms; this tool adds both by default.

How to use the quotation maker

1. Choose Quotation or Estimate as the document title.
2. Enter your business name, contact details and logo.
3. Add your customer’s details under “Prepared for”.
4. Add each product or service as a line item with a quantity and price.
5. Set your tax rate, any discount, and the valid until date.
6. Review the live preview, then click Download PDF.
