Sign a PDF without handing it to a stranger
Signing a PDF usually means one of two bad options: print it, sign it, and scan it back in — or upload your private contract to a website you’ve never heard of. This tool removes both. Open your PDF, draw or type your signature, add any text or dates you need, and download the signed file — and none of it ever leaves your browser.
That last part is the point. The documents people sign are the sensitive ones: employment contracts, tenancy agreements, NDAs, offer letters, consent forms. Most “sign PDF” sites upload your file to their server to process it. This one doesn’t — your document is opened and signed on your own device, so there’s nothing to leak.
How to sign a PDF
- Add your PDF — drag it in or click to browse. It loads into your browser only.
- Add your signature — click Add signature, then draw it or type your name and choose a style. Drag it onto the signature line and resize to fit.
- Fill in the rest — use Text for names, dates and other fields, and Date to insert today’s date. Move anything into place.
- Download — click Download signed PDF. The signed file saves straight to your device.
Draw it or type it
- Draw your signature with a mouse, trackpad or — easiest of all — your finger on a phone or tablet. It captures the real strokes of your signature.
- Type your name and pick a handwriting-style font if you’d rather not draw.
Either way, your signature becomes part of the downloaded PDF as a clean, sharp image placed exactly where you put it. You can reuse the same signature across multiple pages and documents.
Prove it to yourself
Because everything runs client-side, you can verify the privacy claim directly: load this page, then turn off your Wi-Fi or mobile data and sign your document anyway — it still works, because there was never any server involved. That’s the difference between a site that says it’s private and one that is.

Frequently asked questions
Is my document uploaded when I sign it?
No. This is the whole point of the tool: your PDF is opened, signed and saved entirely inside your web browser. It is never uploaded to or stored on any server. That matters enormously for the documents people sign — contracts, leases, offer letters and agreements. You can even disconnect from the internet after the page loads and it still works.
Is this PDF signer free?
Yes — completely free, with no account, no sign-up and no watermark on your signed document.
How do I add my signature?
Click 'Add signature', then either draw your signature with your mouse or finger, or type your name and pick a signature style. Your signature is placed on the page, and you can drag it into position and resize it. You can reuse the same signature as many times as you like.
Can I add text and dates too?
Yes. Use the Text button to fill in fields like names, addresses or amounts, and the Date button to drop in today's date. You can move each item anywhere on the page and adjust the text size.
Is a drawn or typed signature legally valid?
In many countries a typed or drawn electronic signature is legally valid for most everyday agreements, but rules vary by country and document type, and some formal documents require witnessing or a qualified e-signature. This tool creates a standard visible signature on the PDF; check your local requirements for anything legally sensitive.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. On a touchscreen you can draw your signature with your finger, which is often easier than a mouse. It works in any modern mobile browser.
